Academia Slide is the latest innovation from DeWitt watches. The highly original and playful Academia Slide is inspired by the brand's CEO, Jerome De Witt's passion for cars. The design and mechanism of the watch bears witness to the creative vitality of what remains one of the very last manufactures in Geneva to be 100% independent and family-run. The Academia Slide combines the basic physical principle to watch-making in a ground-breaking way. Every hour is inscribed on a brass plate that slides along the track, guiding it to a horizontal position. This horizontal display alone shows the current hour. It's simple intuitive design is also highly energy efficient where the hour plates slide in a natural fluid manner. The two central hands indicate the minutes and seconds. Academia Slide is made from titanium entirely, constructed 276 components with a 49 mm case.
Victorinox needs no introduction. It's products are known for their quality and dependability. I have been interacting with Victorinox for over a decade now and have seen the brand grow slowly and steadily in the right direction. We are all familiar with the brand's Swiss Army Knives; watches have evolved impactfully with impressive designs since the last 3-4 years. One of the watches spoken in this video- Alliance XS, was from the brand's latest collections launched at Baselworld 2019. This watch can be worn during the day or in the evening- your all round companion!
