Called Canvas of the Future, both bags are prototypes from their Cruise 2020 show – although calling them bags is probably understating the real extent of their capabilities.

13. The app that helps consumers transition to natural beauty products
AKLC COMMENT(S):
The demand for clean, non-toxic products is taking the beauty industry by storm, with empowered consumers calling for greater transparency from brands and retailers
Until recently, consumers were in the dark about some of the chemicals present in the products they used daily and the dangerous impact they could have on their bodies. Formaldehyde and benzene, for example, are among a number of chemicals that have long been found in hair and beauty products despite being recognised as carcinogens. Unfortunately, it’s taken some time for these health risks to become public knowledge. This is partly due to poor regulation in the cosmetics industry – in the US, self-regulation has been the norm for more than a century.

15. POSITIVE WEEK: CAN THE LUXURY MARKET EVER BE SUSTAINABLE?
AKLC COMMENT(S): Sustainablity again
Celebrations are taking place in London for Positive Week to honour the brands making luxury goods more eco-friendly. You might be thinking, luxury – sustainability – can the two ever go hand in hand? Although you may deem them antithetical concepts, there is plenty of evidence that the luxury market is becoming more ethical, given they have the time and money to invest in materials and ingredients that will last. Luxury brands set an example further down the retail chain and therefore should be championing sustainability at their core, bringing us excellent products from trustworthy sources.

Next week, Donald Trump will go to the small town of Keene, Texas, and cut the ribbon on a brand-new, 100,000-square-foot Louis Vuitton workshop called the Louis Vuitton Rochambeau Ranch.
